Announcement from TAV Macedonia regarding false bomb threat at Skopje International Airport

Early this morning, 16.8.2025, at around 2:50, the Information and Command Unit of the Ministry of Interior Affairs received a threat of an explosive device on an aircraft at Skopje International Airport.
Following the procedures, Skopje International Airport departments, as well as all relevant and concerned units and institutions of the Ministry of Interior, were immediately notified, and all plans and procedures for handling such events were activated both by the MoIA and the airport operator, TAV Macedonia.
The Ministry of Interior units, in coordination with TAV Macedonia Security Department, immediately took all necessary measures and checks and determined that the threat was false.
Flights at Skopje International Airport were not canceled, but traffic was temporarily stopped until 6:00 this morning, that is, until the Ministry of Interior reported that it was safe for airport operations to continue according to regular schedule.
