FROM SKOPJE AIRPORT: Ajet started seasonal flights to Ankara, Cukurova and Diyarbakir in Turkiye


Skopje International Airport is connected to three new cities in Turkey since June 1. The airline Ajet the last weekend started flying to Ankara, Cukurova, Diyarbakir, three new holiday destinations, the airport operator TAV Macedonia announced.
The seasonal flights from Skopje to Ankara and Diyarbakir will operate once a week, while Ajet flights to Cukurova Airport will operate twice weekly, and all three new routes are available from June 1. until the end of September.
“The direct connection of Skopje International Airport with the three new destinations in Turkey is of great importance in many aspects, because each area brings its own benefits. The connection of the two capitals, Skopje and Ankara, will contribute to increased trade exchange, fast business logistics between Macedonia and Turkiye, easy access to the Turkish market, business mobility, tourist and cultural exchange, educational and academic cooperation, connecting communities, and will also contribute to further improvement of political and diplomatic relations,” stated Nejat Kurt, TAV Macedonia General Manager.

The establishment of the air connection between Skopje and Çukurova and Diyarbakir will bring significant strategic, economic, tourist and cultural benefits to the country, TAV Macedonia officials explain.
Çukurova is a large agricultural area with fertile land that includes Adana, an industrial and agricultural center, and Mersin, a touristic destination on the Turkish Mediterranean coast. What is also significant is that there is a large population in Macedonia originating from these two areas, which will facilitate communication and maintaining family ties.
With the new three destinations, the airline AJet from Skopje International Airport will have a total of 4 destinations, including the already existing route to Istanbul - Sabiha Gokcen Airport.
In the current summer flights season 2025, a total of four airlines fly between Turkiye and Macedonia, to a total of 6 cities and 7 airports in Turkiye. From Skopje International Airport and Ohrid Saint Paul the Apostle Airport, Turkish Airlines flies to Istanbul (IGA Airport); Pegasus Airlines flies from Skopje Airport to Istanbul (Sabiha Gokcen Airport), Izmir and Antalya; Ajet also flies from Skopje to Istanbul (Sabiha Gokcen Airport), while Sun Express flies from Skopje to Antalya and Izmir.
